2019 Pushcart Prize Nominee
Heather Marie Spitzberg is an environmental author, scientist, and lawyer. She lives in New York's Ulster County in the purple-hued shadow of the Catskill Mountains with her family and unruly rescue dogs, Thor and Schuyler. She has two novels and several short stories and essays in progress.
The short story, "Protective Acts," as part of the Save the World Anthology. In the near future, a granddaughter grants her grandmother peace for past environmental damage in a new world where animal protection laws, life force detection technology, and drones create a more peaceful society in which citizens have adapted to and prevented worsening climate change.
